St. Edmund’s offers Scholarships to pupils who show exceptional promise and commitment in art, music, drama and sport supported by success in the school’s standard entry assessments. Scholarship awards are usually 10% of tuition fees, but exceptionally, a higher award may be made for an outstanding candidate.
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Governors based on the recommendation of the Headmaster. The award of a Scholarship at St. Edmund’s carries with it privilege and responsibility. Successful applicants will be given additional opportunities to explore their talents and extend their skills and will be expected to offer an example to and be an inspiration for others.
Bursaries may be awarded to those children whose families have difficulty affording normal school fees and special consideration is given to those children whose parents come from military service backgrounds, or are employed in education, or where another member of the family is or has been a student at St. Edmund’s. In most cases, the school will require a confidential statement of financial circumstances in order to consider fully the merits of an application for assistance. Details of the Bursary policy and process are available on request.
