Winning Judo performances from St. Edmund's girls
On Saturday 5 girls from St. Edmund's School competed at the ‘HMC Independent Schools & IAPS Judo Tournament’, for girls aged 8-16. In the U28Kg weight category Adie won the Gold medal (her 2nd IAPS Judo title) defeating fellow team mate Alice (who took Silver) in a thrilling and close final, with Anna completing the trio of medals securing the Bronze. Hannah provided an impressive display of fighting spirit in the largest and most competitive group of the day, theU32Kg. The last result of the day for St. Ed’s saw Eliza battling through a very tough group in the U48kg category to secure a well-deserved bronze medal.
This was an Impressive hall of medals for St. Edmund's, with a Gold, Silver and two Bronze medals. Martin Rance the school’s Judo Teacher commented “ I was really pleased and proud of the girls who all fought fantastically well, showing lots of heart, determination and impressive Judo skills, continuing Judo success of girls at St. Edmund's. A very pleasing weekend!”
