Cricket

Cricket has been played at St. Edmund’s for nearly 150 years and is one of our flagship sports, especially in the summer! All pupils from Forms 3 - 8 compete in weekly matches and have plenty of opportunities to develop their skills with three lessons per week, in addition to matches. These may be hardball or softball matches and may also be mixed gender.

We boast outdoor and indoor nets, as well as five cricket pitches on site. Our home matches take place on one of our pitches or at one of our local cricket clubs with whom we have valued links. We also participate in all day tournaments with schools further away.

Pupils are also able to attend cricket training twice a week after school which runs from January onwards. We have a range of teams in each age category, each pupil has the option to play hardball but we also have plenty of softball opportunities.

Cricket is a great sport for parents too, as they can sit and watch their child play while basking in the summer sun!
